Meet Sally Beck, PhD/LMFT

 

Hello, I'm Dr. Sally Beck, a licensed marriage and family therapist specializing in children, individual, couples and family therapy including trauma due to sexual/physical abuse. I specialize in marriage counseling, EMDR, and children's issues offering hope to those who are suffering loss of connection to those they love.

 

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I offer an intensive program in which couples meet two hours a week developing a communication style that works! Through "respect living" couples can have the marriage they deserve. Couples can again regain trust and intimacy through renewed connection.

My practice includes also working with children who suffer from trauma and attachment issues due to divorce or abuse as well as adoption. I specialize in play therapy to help assist children in their healing. In fact, play therapy is such a valuable tool Anchor Counseling has dedicated an entire room to just play therapy alone.

I am also trained in EMDR, a specialized technique to lessen anxiety due to trauma. EMDR is effective in reducing anxiety in both adults and children. It is also a way to address PTSD due to trauma and has been found especially helpful in lessening the trauma experienced by our returning military.

In addition, I have presented at conferences and to general audiences speaking on the topics of abuse and childhood trauma including sexual abuse, depression, and self-harm behaviors.
