Meet Stephanie Rieger, Mental Health Provider

Hi, my name is Stephanie Rieger (or I go by Steph too).  I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato and earned my Social Work Degree as well as my Alcohol and Drug Counseling Degree.

I started my career working in all levels of schools and grade levels in a social worker role, and later transitioned into a primary counselor in an adolescent residential treatment program.  From there I worked with SPMI clients to find mainstream work within their communities and became a full time mental health case manager.  I have worked on crisis teams, assessment teams, risk analysis teams, and intake teams throughout my years.  The variety of  opportunities to learn, grow, and serve my community as well as the clients I get to work with has been invaluable, and I still get to learn everyday!

I believe that diversity can motivate change and growth with accountability, empathy, and honesty. I have worked with an array of clients, with an array of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, diversity, and world views. I enjoy working with all age ranges, from children to adult and build positive therapeutic relationships with each person I get to work with. I have worked with diagnosis's such as anxiety, anger, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, eating disorders, and psychotic disorders and believe it is imperative to treat each person I work with as an individual and remain client centered.

I am currently completing my Masters Degree through Capella University and have been fortunate enough to learn and grow under the supervision of Dr. Sally Nord.

It is important to me that I advocate for mental health and extinguish the stigmas and labels of mental health therapy so clients can solely focus on healing, stabilizing, and meeting the goals they set.

I look forward to hearing from you, forming a therapeutic relationship, and working with you to meet  your individual needs and goals!

happy family
